A AK-74 é um rifle de assalto desenvolvido no início dos anos 70, pelo designer Russo Mikhail Kalashnikov como o substituto para o AKM anterior. Ela se utiliza de um calibre menor, o 5.45×39mm, substituindo o formato 7.62×39mm padrão dos rifles Kalashnikov anteriores.

Insurgency

Em Insurgency, a AK-74 é um rifle de assalto adicionado com a atualização Insurgency: Nightfall. Ela é variação do AKS-74U e sucessor do AKM. A AK-74 tem uma alta taxa de fogo e custa dois pontos de suprimentos para equipar.

• Apesar de disparar uma bala menor do que a da AKM, a AKM tem um recuo menor quando se utiliza um foregrip.
